How-to: Internal Wordmarks

  • All internal groups and teams should reach out to brand@athenahealth.com for support with naming or logo creation

  • Typeface – Our internal logos will use Source Sans Pro as the typeface

  • Clear space – It is important to surround our logo and internal logos with a healthy amount of breathing room—clear space—so it stands out in our communications. Please reference our clear space and minimum size guidelines for reference.

  • Selecting imagery – When selecting or creating an image or icon to accompany an internal logo, designers assigned to the project should follow logo best practices when recommending an image:
    • Ensure it is scalable
    • Ensure it can be used as a single color if needed
    • Images/icons should be developed with flat color fields to ensure it’s reproduceable, especially if teams want to print it on swag/other items

  • External use guidance – Internal logos and wordmarks should not be used externally without the brand team’s review and approval. When we do promote an internal logo externally, we will leverage the wordmark-only version, no imagery
